The month of April is a month in which many book-related activities would be taking place around the world. April 2nd is International Children’s Day and April 23rd is World Book Day. The month of April is National Poetry Month in the U.S. and Canada.
Lots of wonderful things are happening on the blog over next few weeks insha’Allah including:
- The first interview here at the blog with a talented, ambitious young Muslim woman who is the editor of a magazine
- Poetry from Muslim poets almost every day – share them with your children by reading them together and out loud at home or in the classroom
- Reviews of two collections of poetry for Muslim children and young adults and a beautiful picture book based on a poem
If you write poetry don’t forget to enter the IWA’s poetry competition. Also, please send in your poems or poems by your favourite author and I will post it here on the blog. Just use the contact form or email muslimkidsbooks [at] gmail [dot] com.
The Guide to Muslim Children’s Books and Media has been doing well, with many visitors and comments, Alhamdulillah (all praise be to Allah). A special thank you (Jazak Allah Khairan) goes out to everyone who has visited, commented and taken part in the poll so far. Remember that getting updates of new reviews and articles is easy. Just subscribe via email (see sidebar at right to do so).
I look forward to your continued visits and participation!
