The BIG Read

If you live in the United Kingdon you might be interested in The BIG Read, an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for “the most children reading with an adult” (which is the official title as stated in the Guinness Book of Records).

The record marks the largest shared reading experience in the world. It is being promoted and hosted by several charities in the UK, many of them Muslim charities.

The BIG Read takes place on March 4th 2010 at the London Muslim Centre and requires adults to sit with children for at least half hour and read from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl.

The BIG Read sounds like great fun and what a boost for getting children to love reading. If you attend please share your experience.
